A Felicitation Programme cum Guest Lecture

A Felicitation Programme cum Guest Lecture was organized by Women's Cell of Radhamadhab College on the occasion of International Women's Day on 8th March 2021 with a view to felicitate the female health warriors who have dedicatedly served the corona patients during the covid 19 pandemic. The invited speaker in the event was Dr Debadatta Chanda, HOD, Microbiology, SMCH. The female staff nurses and research associates from SM.Dev Civil Hospital and Silchar Medical College were honoured with an Uttario, Memento and Certificate. The programme ended with our National Anthem.

One-day workshop on the topic

Keeping in mind the new education policy, any educational institution must initiate knowledge-based programme for the students of pass & honours courses. With this part, a one-day workshop has been held on the topic “A REVIEW OF BENGALI LITERATURE IN THE MIDDLE AGES” on 1st March 2021 organised by the department of Bengali, Radhamadhab College. The said programme was arranged for the benefit of the students as the analysis of middle ages of Bengali literature is an essential part for Higher Secondary and degree both pass & honours courses in Bengali subject.

The invited speakers of this event were:

1.Dr.Rama Purkayastha, Retd. Head, department of Bengali, Cachar College, Silchar

2.Dr.Bubul Sarma, Assistant Professor, department of Bengali, Assam University, Silchar

The programme was conducted with the strong cooperation & presence of Hon’ble Principal, Dr.Debashish Roy. IQAC coordinator Dr.Sonali Choudhury (Biswas) explained its importance in her lecture. The head of the department Dr.Rahul Chakrabarty took a introductory speech about its purpose & role.

Both invited speakers explained elaborately the history of middle ages of Bengali literature as well as encouraged the students by mentioning its connection with the present time.

The total of about 70 students participated in this workshop. Many of them asked some questions to the speakers regarding the topics. The pass students and honours students admitted that, they got benefitted with this programme. For the mark of students’ interest, the department of Bengali enrolled their name issuing online certificate of participation to them.

The whole programme was hosted by Dr.Surjyasen Deb, Assistant Professor, department of Bengali. The vote of thanks delivered by Dr.Kalipada Das, Assistant Professor, department of Bengali. Dr.Sumita Bose, teacher of the department has handled the task of documentation in a responsible manner.

Online Seminar Programme for 1st and 3rd Semester Honours Students

Any kind of seminar programme develops the intellectual power of the students. Self-development is not just about book-based study. They have to express their knowledge outside of the limited studies. Moreover, specially honours students of any subject have to acquire and express more knowledge about it.

In view of that, the department of Bengali, Radhamadhab College has considered the issue seriously and has organised an online seminar on specific topics among the 1st and 3rd semester honours students. The programme has been done through Google meet. Introductory speech has been delivered by the head of the Bengali department Dr. Rahul Chakrabarty. Programme was hosted by Dr. Surjyo Sen Deb, Assistant Professor, Department of Bengali. One of respected departmental teacher Dr. Sumita Bose made the event more beautiful to inspire the students by her speech. Further, the programme duration was 1 hour.

Essay and Poster Writing competition

The Department of English, Radhamadhab College, as part of its Departmental Activities for the session 2020-2021, conducted two competition programmes, one Essay Writing Competition and another Poster Writing Competition on 27th January, 2021. The competitions were successfully closed with an elaborate prize distribution ceremony organized by the Department. The students from all classes – from H.S.1st year to Degree classes participated in the Competitions and were acknowledged irrespective of their winning positions in the same. The Department of English has felt an urge to develop a sense of awareness regarding the causes and consequences of the most alarming onslaught of Covid19 pandemic which has invariably affected the academic front of all educational institutions across the globe. Students, being the most vulnerable victims of this all-pervading disaster should try to address the challenges and hardships that have made decisive impact upon their front. Keeping such arguments and purviews in mind, the Department has launched the mentioned Departmental competitions.

Dr. Sonali Choudhury (Biswas) and Smt. Swarnali Roy Choudhury, Assistant Professor from the Department of Philosophy remained the two esteemed judges who evaluated the competitions. Prizes and certificates were distributed among both the winners and the participants and the judges were felicitated with tokens of appreciation.

The programme was honoured by the honorable Principal of Radhamadhab College, Dr. Debashish Roy and the IQAC Coordinators, Sri Sudarshan Gupta, Sri Anurabha Bhattacharjee and Dr. Sonali Choudhury (Biswas). The programme was compared by the Head of the Department of English, Smt. Arundhati Dutta Choudhury. The vote of thanks was delivered by Sri Arunabha Bhattacharjee, a senior faculty of the Department. The programme was successfully coordinated by the two guest faculties of the Department of English, Smt. Anushaka Chakraborty and Smt. Prerna Bhattacharjee.

Workshop on ‘Cyber Security and GST’

A One-Day workshop on “Cyber Security and GST” was jointly organized by Bipin Chandra Memorial Library and Self-Financing Cell, Radhamadhab College as a part of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the college in collaboration with National Institute of Electronics and Informationn Technology (NIELIT), Govt. of India on 12th February 2021. A total of 100 participants including teachers and students of the college took part in the workshop. The programme was chaired by Dr. Debashish Roy, Principal of the college; other dignitaries on the dias were Sri Arunabha Bhattacharjee, IQAC Coordinator, Sri Sudarshan Gupta, Organizing Secretary, Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee and Sri Shamik Gupta Bhaya, Senior Technical Officer, NIELIT. The resource persons of the workshop were Asish Dey Mazumder, Sri Rajani Kanta Singha and Sri Shamik Gupta Bhaya from NIELIT. They delivered lectures on different issues of Cyber Security and GST. Also a special session on Use of Google Form for Examination Purpose was held in the technical session. The Inaugural Programme was attended by all the teachers and staff of the college. The coordinator of Self-Financing Cell and Librarian, Dr.Sonali Choudhury thanked everyone for their active participation and cooperation to make the workshop successful.
