STUDENTS’ HEALTH CARE CENTRE
It is said that a healthy mind resides in a sound body.
Inspired by this proverbial saying, Radhamadhab College has set up a
Students’ Health Care Centre in the year 2003 with a view to provide basic
medical facilities to the students of the College. The Centre conducts
gnarl health heck-up of every students at the beginning of academic
session. The Centre also organizes blood-group diagnosing programme for
the students of the college regularly. It organizes workshops, awareness
programmes relating to various health diseases and hazards. In the
academic session 2003-04, the centre organized a Workshop on HIV/AIDS and
an awareness programme on the prevalence of cancer in the North-East and
its basic prevention. The experts from the respective fields spoke on the
occasion, which were attended by large number of students and teachers. In
2005, Students’ Health Care Centre of the college organized an awareness
programme on “Natural Disaster Management” in collaboration with the
District Administration, Cachar. It was attended by students, members of
the teaching staff and non-teaching staff and large number of local
residents. Appreciating the activities of the centre, the college
authority has allotted a separate room equipped with essential medical
apparatus. Students’ Health Care Centre has appointed a part-time
physician, who visits twice a week throughout the academic session. The
college authority is considering the feasibility of appointing a permanent
medical officer for the centre. |
